Ms. Marta Palma is currently an Executive Staff Member of the World Council of Churches (WCC). She studied sociology, social work and theology. At present she is doing a Phd in Theology with the San Francisco Theological Seminar. She was involved in the creation of the World Council of Churches (WCC) global ecumenical network on the dignity of children.
As part of the WCC work she has been responsible for the organization of three major children's conferences in Geneva and Brazil involving marginalized children. Through this global network on the dignity of children she became very familiar with the main issues affecting children in Europe. She continues to be part of the WCC team working on children's issues and coordinates the children's work for Latin America.
She has participated in many international conferences on children and has concentrated her work mainly on issues such as children's protagonism; inter-faith perspectives in working with children; children and development. As a member of the GNRC Ms. Palma has organized two conferences in Europe involving adults and children from six different religions.
